Antique Saryk Turkmen Ensi
Here is an extremely rare Saryk Ensi in very good condition, late 19th century. An Ensi is an entrance hanging for a Yurt. Saryk Turkmen ensi rugs are intricately handwoven by the Saryk tribe in Central Asia, known for their bold designs and use of natural dyes. The rugs serve as a functional object and a work of art, with each piece reflecting the cultural identity and traditions of the tribe. The weaving process is highly intricate, using the symmetrical knot technique, taking several months to complete. Despite challenges, the Saryk Turkmen ensi rug continues to be produced and remains a valuable artifact, highly prized by collectors.
